Fall Rhapsody in Ottawa
It’s been a long while since I have explored Ottawa as a tourist (perhaps since moving to Canada!). we decided to go for the weekend during Thanksgiving 2009. Coincided with the Fall Rhapsody event at Gatineau park – ie. changing of the leaves. it’s quite beautiful, of course being in toronto, we don’t really need to go to Ottawa just to see it – but Gatineau Park is extremely beautiful and well deserved a trip.
Arriving in the tourist entrance of Gatineau Park, they give you a map of trails you can take. most with a nearby car lot where you can then go by foot. some trails are long, some only a few steps away to see the attractions (vista view, waterfall, lake etc).
There were just too many attractions to see in one day – so we picked a few – Pink Lake, Champlain Lookout – a bird’s-eye view from the Gatineau Hills over the Ottawa Valley, and a few other trails that usually lead to a waterfall (I love waterfalls!)
Looking back at the pictures, it’s a beautiful album of gold, yellow, orange and red.
