AI in Cancun
It’s party time – bachelorette style. sorry guys, this post isn’t about the actual bachlorette, rather the resort we stayed at! Grand Park Royal Cancun Caribe. Ranked #16 out of 173 from Tripadvisor, it was a perfect mix of price, availability and location for 10 girls looking to relax, party, and have fun.
At the north end of the cancun strip, it has a nice beautiful white-ish sand beach with shallow turquoise water. the waves were pretty big some days, but the flags that are put up tells you where to avoid. The resort had 1 main pool, and 1 smaller side pool (with an small infinity edge) to get our tan on.
The rooms were spacious – not super luxurious, but clean and tidy. I believe every room has a balcony, most with ocean views.
Resort had a few restaurant, some that requires advance booking (try the italian one!), some as walk in. There was a place that is open just for lunch, and it’s mostly seafood variety. the buffet was solid and plentiful. mostly I gorged on guac and nachos. and of course fries.
Overall, i think this is a great place to come to with friends and family – it’s not a party resort – but i guess that may depends on when you make the trip to cancun. The resort had a bus stop right outside the grand entrance, for less than a US dollar, we were able to take the local bus to the shopping mall. approx $10 in taxi fare to get to the clubbing strip for our party nights.
side note: prior to this trip, i had a lot of reservations about what cancun “city” was like. What i discovered was a fun atmosphere, clean and lots of variety of partying – kind of miami like (less pretentious). o, plus shopping was really good.
Self note next time: tell Visa that you’re travelling to Mexico to avoid them freezing your account during a trip to Zara. (though i am happy that they were diligent at fraud prevention!)
ps. also good that there was no hurricanes this time around.
